That's how we've conducted our business since we opened our virtual doors in 2011. 

When you buy an ebook from us, you own it! 

All the books we sell are DRM-free. You can move them among your devices exactly as you please, and back them up in whatever way suits you. (And if you need help with moving them from device to device, we'll be delighted to give you a hand.) 

Also: we have no ability to alter your purchased files in any way.  And we have no interest in removing already-purchased ebooks from your ebook library, or in "vanishing" your books on somebody else's orders. Once they're yours, they're yours for always. 

Our independent status allows us flexibility not available under the constraints of the big platforms. For example, we can offer bundle deals impossible to match elsewhere due to the way the platforms rigidly control self-publishers' pricing. 

And we can also offer extra services to our purchasers that the big platforms don't dare to! 

Because sometimes accidents happen. You download a file and then can't remember where you put it. Or you ordered an ebook from us in an older format (like Amazon's .mobi, now deprecated) and have acquired different devices on which you store your ebooks... devices that don't support your old format. Or you lose your Kindle (or whatever other tablet or reader) that had your ebook files on it.

We don't care. We'll replace your ebooks for free!

Or if necessary, we'll send you equivalent files in a different format, at your request. We're happy to help you change your ebooks to versions that'll run on a different reader, if that's what you need.

We strongly believe that if you've been kind enough to buy an ebook from us, we should willingly replace it. It doesn't seem fair to us to make you pay for something twice. (Also, we don't have a space program to fund, and therefore don't feel the need to be quite that grabby.)

So if you lose files, or need replacements for some other reason—say your hard drive crashes, or you lose them when changing computers, or whatever—just email us at our support address: EbooksDirectStore@gmail.com, and quote your order number in the email.

We will be back to you as quickly as we can (usually within 24-72 hours) and will mail refreshed or new download links to you at the address you used to order.

That's all there is to it.
