In 2020, with the onset of the COVID pandemic, we put our entire inventory at Ebooks Direct on a 50% discount so that people on lockdown would have (we hoped) a welcome price break on fantasy and science fiction ebook reading, "until things got better."
We kept this price break in place throughout 2021 and 2022. Now in 2023, even though matters regarding COVID aren't yet exactly what could be wished, at least it can be safely said that the pandemic proper is over.
As a result, we've made the decision to start phasing out the across-the-board, storewide discount.
Our newsletter-list customers were the first to know that this was about to happen; but now it's time to confirm this publicly. December 31, 2023 (until 23:59 PST) will be the last day of the storewide discount. All individual ebooks and bundles will then increase in price by at least 30% or more, reflecting the rising cost-of-living prices that we, like all small businesses, have been dealing with due to the disruptions of the last few years. So if you want to take advantage of our current lower prices, we encourage you to do so before year's end.
To those of you who might have purchased from us over the last three years: thanks very much for your support through what's unquestionably been a difficult time for everybody. We appreciate you deeply.
And (since it seems like a new wave of COVID is currently on its way in...) please take the very best care of yourself.
